Steel Accent Steelband - Solo, Duo, Trio, or Quartet

The sound of the steel drum has a unique relaxing affect on people. When hearing the gentle sounds of this instrument, you can't help but feel like you are sitting on a beach on an island, sipping a cocktail. It is that feeling that Phil and the members of Steel Accent have come to love and appreciate. For the past 10 years, it has been Phil's goal to bring that fun, relaxing sound of the Islands to cocktail receptions, weddings, concerts, corporate events, and backyard parties all over New England!

Steel drum music is simply the perfect "accent" music for any occasion! Phil Andrews and his Steel Accent Steelband plays a variety of traditional soca and calypso tunes, as well as some tropical rock, reggae, pop, and light jazz. Phil performs acoustically as a steelpan soloist with pro backing tracks (pumped through his 1000-watt PA system), or as a part of a group with drums and bass guitar. All Steel Accent Steelband musicians are professional and reliable musicians with decades of experience!

When not working, Phil kicks his feet up on the tropical island of Clinton MA. He is a classically trained percussionist with a Masters degree in music. When not playing with this group, he teaches private lessons on drum set, percussion, and steel drums. He also plays for musical theater productions, local orchestras, and the country's premiere Jimmy Buffett tribute show, Changes In Latitudes!  His double second steelpans were hand crafted by master steel drum builder, tuner, and performer, Kyle Dunleavy.
